THIS MORNING we meet parents and children at our first “Meet and Greet” at the new site. I am waiting for the set up team to arrive and load chairs, tables and canopies. When we planned this day we thought that perhaps we could give parents a tour (knowing our licensing appt. was this week and thinking our playground would already be installed….) but no chance. Thankfully parents have been very supportive when we had to announce we would be delayed one week. Parents will meet the director, their teachers, get their security codes for checking in their kids (we have a cool touch screen system) and meet pastor and other staff. PRAY FOR THIS MORNING’s EVENT.
Our BIG shipment came in this week of tables and chairs. We are storing them here in the Oxford preschool rooms. Volunteers needed to assemble tables and chairs. There were some last minute scheduling issues but we saved $800 by having them stored here.
LICENSING clarification. We have our re inspection on the 28th. Our license was issued based on the big stack of paperwork submitted. We do qualify. However, we cannot operate until everything on their checklist is complete and meets state licensing codes. These things are all in the works so it is a matter of efficiently completing the school for our “go ahead” to be given. Thank you for your prayers. PRAY some more.
GOOD NEWS! Our playground will arrive on Monday and be installed! It will probably take them a week because they have to pour a rubber surface upon which the grass (new generation of artificial grass that does not get hot) and bike paths are designed. Thank you Lord.
Pastor met with the Site Supervisor this week who said, “Despite the issues we have had, I have NEVER seen a building this big go up in this short a time!” Thank you Lord. We continue to pray for the workers’ safety and swiftness….prayer answered.
FIRE MARSHALL……big time prayer. So, if you are devoting 1 minute to prayer (remember our 1 minute for 100 days plea?), please devote 50 seconds to praying for the Fire Marshall! We have heard that he will be on our site this next week. Please pray that all falls into place so that he will in fact be able to be on site this next week. Pray for him and all the pressures that he has to contend with especially as his department, and many others in Chula Vista, are experiencing severe budget cut backs. LORD, in your mercy.
Do you know of anyone else who would like to join us in prayer? Please send me their email address (with their permission) and I will add them to our list of heroes and put them on our email list to be notified when there are new and urgent prayer requests and updates. Send the email to mgsalomon@gmail.com Thank you Lord for the prayers of these faithful!
I have a parent on my FACEBOOK….and she wrote this today:
