Thank you Lord!
It hardly seems possible that the groundbreaking will take place Friday, the 14th of November at 4pm. If you are within driving distance, please consider yourself invited! Continue to pray for this project. We are still writing grant proposals and recognize that partnerships are NECESSARY to see this whole project realized. Please pray for a visit to a foundation that Pastor will have on December 1. Keep the grant requests in your prayers! If you know of any individuals or foundations that have a passion for education and mission, please let Melissa Salomon know at mgsalomon@gmail.com
We are thankful to friend and supporter Cris Wenthur of the Wenthur Law Group for his partnership in assisting us to establish a supporting foundation for the educational purposes of this project.
Here is an excerpt from our media release:
“A new Early Childhood Center, offering preschool education and full-day care options for children ages 2-5 beginning construction this month in Windingwalk at Otay Ranch. The Early Childhood Center, located at the end of the Birch Rd. and Discovery Falls Drive, two blocks east of the Otay Ranch Town Center and across the street from the newly opened “The Marketplace,” will open in July 2009.
Concordia Church is delighted to be moving into the neighborhood and is anxious to serve the families of the Otay Ranch neighborhoods by establishing a full-service education center that will be marked by excellence in education, state of the art facilities, a special focus on music and the arts, and a family-friendly environment.
Concordia’s Early Childhood Center will welcome up to 80 preschool age children in his opening phase of development. Infant and toddler care are planned for the future, along with a K-8 Academy and a Community Center, that, among other things, will be able to support before and after-school care needs of the community. This new school will focus on excellence in Music and the Arts, developing an innovative program that will begin in the preschool with foundational music training for very young children.
The preschool will offer a highly select staff of teachers, a curriculum designed for optimum development of each child in an atmosphere and personalized attention that will give parents the assurance that no better learning environment can exist outside of the home.
Mayor Cheryl Cox and other specially invited guests including Vice President of Brookfield Homes, David poole, will be present to make remarks on this celebratory day. …..”
Thank you prayer partners for your continued prayers. They are still very needed. You are on this journey with us. Thank you.
