NEWS UPDATE FROM LAST NIGHT!
Last night while we were in church, pastor was at Chula Vista City Hall waiting for the Concordia matter to come up before the Planning Commission hearing. They approved recommending the zoning change to allow the building of 24 homes on our current site on Oxford Street instead of 19. This will then go before the City Council on January 8 for final approval. This is one half of our mission project in that it allows for our buyers to realize the kind of project they need to build and it will give us the funds we need to purchase the property for the new mission site on Windingwalk and begin work there. New homes will be built on the site we are on currently. Remember that I said it is a property tucked away in a little neighborhood? Well, it is perfect for homes. * Rather than build high density homes (which would have maximized profits for us), we opted to support the building of single family homes with generous set backs to allow for maximum privacy for the neighbors we have had for the past 40 plus years.
We are grateful to God for this step on the mission journey. Thank you for your prayers.
Continue to pray for the meeting before the City Council on January 8 and the appeal before the City Council on January 15 where they will approve the proposals for the new mission on the Windingwalk site.
To God be all honor and glory. Amen!
